IB Programmes in Oxford

Due to popular demand, we are introducing IB revision programmes with one of our partner schools in Oxford.

During the July & August school holidays and in the Autumn term (for those retaking papers) we shall offer a programme that will provide support for IB Diploma Candidates. The programmes consist of individual and small group tuition (the precise mix depending on the subject choice) with experienced Oxford IB tutors. Most subjects are offered at both HL and SL.

Weekly Schedule

The weekly schedule consists of:

Specialist subjects - up to two subjects may be chosen, and students may choose different subjects each week of their stay;
Support for the Theory of Knowledge requirement
Individual support for the Extended Essay

For mid-IB students and those retaking papers the emphasis is on revision and working on problem areas. For pre-IB students (mainly the summer vacation) the programme provides an introduction to their chosen subjects and the learning skills demanded by the Diploma.

There are 20 lessons each week (or the equivalent of individual tuition in less frequently studied subjects). The average group size is five students. We ask students to send as much information as possible on their options and main areas of weakness.

Accommodation is normally with Oxford host families although the University is an alternative in the summer. There is also an optional programme of social activities and excursions in the summer.

The programmes include regular testing, and advice on universities (including Oxford and Cambridge).
